Thank you to everyone who turned out on Saturday for the Barbour Hall’s annual Christmas Fayre.

It was a lovely community event and there was a great buzz about the venue, as there has been on many occasions over the past six months.

It was particularly nice to welcome many of Glencaple’s new (and younger) residents who have recently arrived at the new build area at the edge of the village.

We all wish you a happy and prosperous time in our wonderful wee village and community.

This year we had more stall holders than ever, including Innes’s ever popular reindeer stall and new sellers like Colaja handmade wax melts and Steve Walker, a locally based watercolour artist.

Caerlaverock Primary School probably had one of the most popular and colourful stalls of all and their pictures for the Christmas Art competition brightened the walls.

The raffle was as popular as ever and thanks must go to everyone who donated the quality prizes on offer. Special mention must go to the very talented Brenda Craik for her wonderful hamper.

In addition, the kitchen did not stop from the moment the Fayre opened serving tea, coffee, juice, mince pies and shortbread.

At the end of the day, we are delighted to announce that we raised the fantastic sum of £520 for hall funds.

Thank you for your generosity and for making it such an enjoyable event.

And thank you for all the hard work put in behind the scenes by Committee members to make the event the success that it was!
